The Control of Dogs Order 1992 requires that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with a pet tag bearing the name and address (including postcode) of the owner. It is advisable to put your phone number on the tag too, so someone can call you if you lose your pup.
What can happen if my dog is not wearing a pet tag?
You could be prosecuted and fined up to £5,000! Moreover, if your best friend is found in a public place without identification, it can be seized by Animal Wardens and treated as a stray. Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 a stray dog may be sold or destroyed if unclaimed after a seven day period. Don't let that happen!
It is also worth noting that a straying dog with a pet tag is normally returned by the finder directly to the owner saving the expense of claiming the dog back from local authority kennels.
We've tested our tags on 10,000+ dogs and listened to their owners opinions. Even though our first Customers are very satisfied with their Pet ID Tags, they helped us make them even better for your pup! Thanks to our Customers' trust and support, we are proud to offer you the highest quality dog tags for pets on the market. We believe you'll be so happy with your pet's new tag, that it will be the last one you ever buy.
